Coastal Sailing Experience - 150NM /5 Days
Details:
Lets go for a 5 day sailing sabbatical around the heart of New England sailing. Newport, RI is an ideal location to begin exploring sites such as Block Island, Cuttyhunk, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. This is a great trip for those looking to gain experience cruising on a Balance Catamaran. Everyone will get practice and learn all aspects of the sailing lifestyle, including weather routing, navigation, and even dinghy operation! Oh, and how about properly setting an anchor?
SAIL TRAINING:
Our passages can be as informative and lesson-oriented as you wish. Throughout the experience, you will receive hands-on training in every aspect of sailing! Some common topics include weather forecasting, route planning, sail trim, safety at sea, radar navigation, boat handling, and anchoring / mooring.
ITINERARY:
We choose our itinerary based on the weather, but expect daily sailing activities from one picturesque anchorage to another. Set sail from Newport, and navigate the lovely Naragansat bay. Exiting the bay, we can explore sites such as Block Island, Cuttyhunk, Martha’s Vinyard, and Nantucket. Along the way, you'll enhance your sailing skills with hands-on lessons in navigation, boat handling, and sail trim, all while enjoying the proper New England sailing local and scenery. Whether you’re an experienced sailor or a beginner, this is the perfect opportunity to refine your skills, relax on the trampoline, and see some of the best that the New England area has to offer.
WEATHER:
Once we leave port, we get what we get. On our passages, we expect there to be a mix of sunny hot days, rain and strong wind. Sometimes it can be uncomfortable beat, and other times a blissful downwind run. Simply put, we do not control the weather, but that’s part of the adventure! We will make the best of it, no matter the conditions.
