TRANS-ATLANTIC! Canaries to Caribbean (21 Days)

Trans-Atlantic Offshore Sailing Experience - 2800NM / 21 Days

Details:

Check off that bucket list item and experience crossing an ocean with Outer Passage! Set sail on a long, trade wind journey with many days of spinnaker sailing, surfing down Atlantic swells and plenty of time at the helm. Enjoy the rhythm of passage making at it’s finest as you take part of all crew activities from sailing, weather routing, and that all important R&R off-watch!

SAIL TRAINING:

Our passages can be as informative and lesson-oriented as you wish. Throughout the passage, you will receive hands-on training in every aspect of sailing, making our program a true experiential sailing experience! Some common topics include weather forecasting, route planning, sail trim, safety at sea, radar navigation, boat handling, and anchoring / mooring.

ITINERARY:

Arrive aboard where you will have ample time to unpack and get acquainted with a grand tour of the beautiful Balance 526. Depending on the upcoming passage weather, we will spend a day or two learning all systems, sail handling, and safety protocols. When our departure window opens, we will point the bow South West and begin our journey towards Antigua, in the Caribbean!

WEATHER:

Once we leave port, we get what we get. On our passages, we expect there to be a mix of fair sunny days, chilly evenings, rain, strong wind, and light air. Sometimes it can be uncomfortable, and other times a blissfull downwind run. Simply put, we do not control the weather, but that’s part of the adventure! We will make the best of it, no matter the conditions.

Travel Logistics:

  • Fly into Cesar manrique-Lanzarote Airport (ACE) in San Bartolome on the Canary Island of Lanzarote. Dinghy pickup is subject to change, but expect Pippilotta to be anchored on the southern coast near the marina of ‘Puerto Deportivo Rubicón S.A’. There is an abundance of hotels overlooking the anchorage as well!

  • Fly out of VC Bird International Airport (ANU), in Osbourn, Antigua.

  • Please book local accommodations for the evening prior to and after our planned departure / arrival. Flexible bookings are always preferred, though we do our best to depart and arrive on schedule.

  • You have the option to spend the night onboard before, if you wish. This includes dinner and a light breakfast, with arrival after 4pm, and departure at 9am.

PRICE:

Our prices are all-Inclusive, meaning we cover all costs once onboard. We provide all meals, snacks, and refreshments. However, we do not cover your transportation to and from the program and any meals/drinks ashore. We do pickup any mooring or docking fees. Just get to us and we will take it from there!
