BVI Coastal Adventure (5 Days)

Coastal Sailing Experience - 100NM /5 Days

Details:

Pack your bag and join us for a Caribbean sailing adventure like no other! The Virgin Islands host idyllic tradewind sailing conditions and tropical islands to explore. Perfect for gaining hands-on experience with the cruising lifestyle

SAIL TRAINING:

Our passages can be as informative and lesson-oriented as you wish. Throughout the experience, you will receive hands-on training in every aspect of sailing! Some common topics include weather forecasting, route planning, sail trim, safety at sea, radar navigation, boat handling, and anchoring / mooring.

Outer Passage is a accredited American Sailing school and can accommodate 103 ‘Basic Coastal Cruising’ & 104 ‘Bareboat Cruising’ for those who are interested. Once certified, you may apply separately for your ‘ICC/IPC’ (International Competency / Proficiency Certificate), if so desired.

ITINERARY:

We choose our itinerary based on the weather, but expect daily sailing activities from one picturesque anchorage to another. Set sail from Tortola and navigate to world-famous spots like the Baths on Virgin Gorda, the lively shores of Jost Van Dyke, and the serene anchorages of Norman Island. Along the way, you'll enhance your sailing skills with hands-on lessons in navigation, boat handling, and sail trim, all while enjoying the crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life around the islands. Whether you’re an experienced sailor or a beginner, this is the perfect opportunity to refine your skills, relax on idyllic beaches, discover the world below the water and explore the best sailing the Caribbean has to offer.

WEATHER:

Once we leave port, we get what we get. On our passages, we expect there to be a mix of sunny hot days, rain and strong wind. Sometimes it can be uncomfortable beat, and other times a blissful downwind run. Simply put, we do not control the weather, but that’s part of the adventure! We will make the best of it, no matter the conditions.

Travel Logistics:

  • Fly via Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport (IATA: EIS, ICAO: TUPJ) on Tortola

  • OR Fly via Cyril E. King International Airport (STT) in St. Thomas and take the ferry or water taxi to Tortola
